The much loved period drama ‘Downton Abbey’ will be delighting fans on the big screen for the first time, along with a spectacular showcase of some of Yorkshire’s most iconic filming locations, when it arrives in cinemas this week.The worldwide hit TV series aired on ITV from 2010 to 2015, following the fortunes of the aristocratic Crawley family and their downstairs servants, set at a Yorkshire country estate. The feature film shot at locations in the region last summer, including North Yorkshire Moors Railway, (including Pickering Railway Station), Wentworth Woodhouse, Little Germany in Bradford, Harewood House and Dalton Mills in Keighley, whilst Highclere Castle in Berkshire continues to serve as the key country house location.
