Harewood House & Estate

Harewood House is a country house in Harewood near Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. Designed by architects John Carr and Robert Adam, it was built between 1759 and 1771. The landscape was designed by Lancelot “Capability” Brown.

Harewood boasts a wide array of both internal and external locations for filming, from the magnificent, Georgian interiors of the State Floor, and well-trodden corridors of Below Stairs, to the vast exteriors including picturesque formal gardens, Walled Garden and Lake.

Further afield, the 4,000-acre estate surrounding the House boasts extensive parkland with panoramic views, private woodlands and tracks, derelict buildings, follies, a quarry, cottages and even a 14th century castle ruin.

Over the years, Harewood has played host to several well-known productions, from feature films and period dramas to documentaries and soaps, including the 2019 Downton Abbey film, HBO/BBC’s Gentleman Jack, ITV’s Victoria and Emmerdale, with the Harewood estate proudly being home to the purpose-built set of the fictional village since the late 1900’s.

Well-versed in the requirements for filming productions, Harewood can support with on-site office/meeting spaces, green rooms, hard-standing parking, security and accommodation.
