Boot Camp is a skills and knowledge development scheme for prospective new entrants into the film and television industry. It seeks to provide an enhanced and accelerated bridge between training and the industry through an intensive three day ‘Boot Camp’ programme. Boot Camp is aimed at individuals who are interested in a career in the film industry but who have yet to convert that interest into a regular stream of work. Applications are welcome from individuals who did not study a film-related subject but who have a demonstrable desire to enter the industry – a degree is not necessary. Boot Camp is FREE to attend to successful applicants.
Screen Yorkshire’s Boot Camp is supported by ScreenSkills using National Lottery funds awarded by the BFI as part of the Future film Skills programme. ScreenSkills is the industry-led skills body for the UK’s screen-based industries – animation, film, games, television including children’s and high-end, VFX and immersive technology. ScreenSkills works across the whole of the country to build an inclusive workforce with the skills needed for continued success, now and in the future.
After completing Boot Camp, participants will have a clearer idea of the UK film industry, with a greater knowledge of the roles and opportunities on offer and they will have gained extra experience to support application to the ScreenSkills Trainee Finder scheme.
Applications to our latest Boot Camp closed on 17th December 2018. To make sure you hear about subsequent programmes, sign up to our newsletter and follow us on social media.
