Thinking of a career in Locations?

Join Our Live Streamed Webinar on Monday 23rd March between 7pm and 9pm

In partnership with Screenskills’ HETV Skills Fund, Screen Yorkshire turns its attention to the HETV locations department with a live streamed webinar and locations specific bootcamps. Get an overview of the HETV locations department, including an informal panel discussion and live Q&A during the webinar. Registration is essential and we will email you a link to access the webinar on the day of the event.  Register online here.

Following the webinar, applications will be open for HETV Locations Bootcamps, which will be delivered across two days in each of Sheffield, London and Cardiff in late April and early May. The bootcamps will go into much more detail on the work of the HETV locations department and will include some location scouting practice. Each bootcamp will be for 50 participants and will be subject to a competitive application process. The webinar and HETV locations bootcamps are open to anyone aged 18 years or over with a right to work in the UK.

The course will be lead by Screen Yorkshire’s Richard Knight, an experienced HETV Location Manager in his own right, with credits including This is England ’86, ’88 & ‘90, Utopia, The Virtues and Silent Witness, with contributions from additional location managers including Midge Ferguson (Sex Education) and Leon Seth (Tin Star), producers such as Barry Ryan (The Last Panthers), directors such as Al Mackay (Humans) and production designer Janey Levick (This is England ‘90, The Virtues).

This perfectly combines my twenty years’ locations experience with my role as a trainer and educator. I’m really looking forward to delivering it, and hopefully meeting and training some location managers of the future.
