Hardcastle Crags is a beautiful wooded Pennine valley owned by the National Trust. Historically part of the West Riding of Yorkshire, it lies approximately 2 miles north of the town of Hebden Bridge and 10 miles west of the town of Halifax, within the Calderdale borough of West Yorkshire, historically part of the West Riding of Yorkshire. The 19th Century Gibson Mill (pictured above), which was used as a filming location in Mike Leigh’s Peterloo, sits at its heart.
