Grimsby doubles as DunkirkAtonement
"It's just what we were looking for. We could have tried to do this in a studio, but Dunkirk was a fishing port like Grimsby, and it has been able to provide the atmosphere we wanted. This is the perfect place to do it." says Atonement Unit publicist, Rachel Kennedy.
Working Title's Atonement starring Keira Knightley and James McAvoy recreated part of Grimsby docks as Dunkirk. Based on the novel by Ian McEwan the film was a big success in autumn 2007. Screen Yorkshire supported the production with locations and crewing.
