Made in YorkshireLost in Austen
Lost in Austen hit our screens as a four-part drama for ITV in the autumn of 2008, featuring various historic locations from across the Yorkshire region, including Bramham Park, Harewood House and Allerton Castle. The series, which sees its heroine transported back through time to exchange places with Elizabeth Bennet, showcases some of the region's most striking locations to portray the contrast between the period of Pride and Prejudice and modern day city life.
Screen Yorkshire invested in Lost in Austen through its Production Fund and secured jobs for a number of regional trainees. Mammoth Screen's Michele Buck, who produced the series for ITV commented:
Without Screen Yorkshire's investment and support, the project would not have been possible. This, coupled with the stunning locations on offer, meant Yorkshire was clearly the place to base production.
