WHAT IS THE FILM TOOLKIT?

The Film Toolkit is a new venture in production know-how for filmmakers in Yorkshire and Humber. It has been designed to integrate key events with training information and resources for filmmakers in the region.

Bradford Animation Festival
Film Toolkit will be announcing a number of sessions at the Bradford Animation Festival (BAF) in conjunction with the Warp Films and Birds Eye View Reanimate programme. BAF takes place at The National Media Museum, Bradford from 10 - 14 November 2010. More details coming soon....
48 Hour Challenge
The 48 Hour Challenge will be coming to Yorkshire this autumn. Supported by Film Toolkit, this is a great opportunity for filmmakers to learn from top UK talent and then race the clock to shoot and edit their very own film in just 2 days!

David Morrissey presents Don't Worry About Me: Screen Yorkshire and Showroom Cinema welcomed renowned actor David Morrissey (State of Play, Nowhere Boy, Red Riding, The Deal, Dr Who) to a very special event in Sheffield on 14th June 2010 to talk about his feature directorial debut, Don't Worry About Me, a bittersweet love letter to his home city, Liverpool. Bradford International Film Festival Industry Weekend: Specialists from across a wide range of disciplines came together at the Bradford International Film Festival Industry Weekend to share their experiences working in the industry in a series of sessions and masterclasses across a broad spectrum of topics; including finance, distribution, production, camera, new platforms, screenwriting, skills development and setting up your own production company. New Business Models for Drama: Finding Alternative Sources of Finance: Technology is changing rapidly, content is freely available across the net, traditional funding structures are dissolving. This session led by Ed Sharp from Film Tree (who have recently announced their partnership with UK Film Council) explored alternative finance sources and ways of reaching audiences. Hussain Currimbhoy - ProgrammerHussain is a film programmer at one of the industry's flagship festivals - Sheffield Doc / Fest, which brings the international documentary family together to celebrate the art and business of documentary making for five intense days in November.
Bill Lawrence - ExhibitorBill was Head of Film at the National Media Museum in Bradford until April 2008, where over 16 years he developed the film delivery to include Bradford Film Festival in 1995, as well as the Bradford Animation Festival from 1994 and the Bite the Mango Film Festival from 1995. More recently, Bill has worked as Creative Director at the Showroom and Workstation in Sheffield. He is a board member of Screen Yorkshire, as well as director of York Film Trust.
